Vi piace il trekking e volete visitare la Toscana in un modo speciale? Oggi vi parliamo della strada che percorrela splendida campagna del Chianti da Firenze a Siena, la cosiddetta “Via del Romea del Chianti”. Nel Medioevo le strade che i pellegrini percorrevano verso Roma erano chiamate “vie romee”. Insieme a Gerusalemme e Santiago di Compostela, Roma era una delle mete di pellegrinaggio più popolari e lo è ancora oggi.
Si tratta di un viaggio di quattro giorni e ogni giorno si cammina fra cinque e sei ore da un posto all’altro con un guida speciale.
Il sentiero conduce attraverso strade asfaltate con scarso traffico e sentieri nel bosco. Non è solo un percorso per godersi i bei paesaggi della Toscana ma è anche un percorso storico - c’è la possibilità di vedere molti posti diversi per esempio:
- La Chiesanuova con la sua schiacciata - la schiacciata del Forno Alimentari Giotto, in via Volterrana a Chiesanuova è famosa in tutto il territorio fiorentino.
- La villa Vrindavana che fu costruita nel seicento durante il Rinascimento ed è stata la residenza di alcune personalità importanti. Nel 1979 fu acquisito e restaurato dalla comunità ISCKON. Oggi è una destinazione spirituale e un luogo di culto.
- La casa del Machiavelli, che fu la dimora di Niccolò Machiavelli durante l'esilio e oggi è un museo e l’osteria dell’Albergaccio dove Machiavelli mangiava ogni giorno oggi è il ristorante più antico della Toscana.
Inoltre ci sono molti altri posti da esplorare. Sport, cultura italiana e natura si fondono in questo viaggio per un’esperienza unica.

La via Romea del Chianti
Do you love trekking and want to visit Tuscany in a special way? Today we present you the path that takes you through the beautiful Chianti countryside from Florence to Siena on the so-called “Via Romea del Chianti” In the Middle Ages the roads that pilgrims used to travel to Rome were called “Vie Romee. ” Along with Jerusalem and Santiago de Compostela, Rome was one of the most popular pilgrimage destinations and still is today.
It’s a four-day journey and every day you walk between five and six hours from one place to another with a special guide. The trail leads through paved roads and trails in the woods.
It’s not only a path to enjoy the beautiful countryside of Tuscany but it’s also a historical path – there is the possibility to see many different places such as:
- Chiesanuova with its schiacciata – the schiacciata of Forno Alimentari Giotto, in via Volterrana in Chiesanuova is famous throughout the Florentine territory.
- Villa Vrindavana was built in the seventeenth century during the Renaissance and was the residence of some important personalities. In 1979 it was purchased and restored by the ISCKON community. Today it is a spiritual destination and a place of worship.
- The house of Machiavelli, which was the home of Niccolò Machiavelli during his exile and today it’s a museum, and the “Osteria dell’Albergaccio” where Machiavelli ate every day is today the oldest restaurant in Tuscany.
There are also many other places to explore. Sport, nature, and Italian culture are combined in a unique experience.
