Stratta is a historic confectioner’s shop in Turin: it opened in 1836 and was awarded the "Suppliers of the Royal Household" recognition. It soon became famous above all for its sweets: an excellent gift idea!
Of course, there you can also find chocolate products, fruit jellies or bonbons in special packaging, in different formats and colours for an unforgettable experience. They even sell a special Egyptian Museum box!
If you want to see everything they sell, don't worry: the shop is located at 191, Piazza San Carlo, right opposite the Scuola Leonardo, so you won't have to walk far!

Ghigo, confectioners since 1870, is located at 52/b, via Po, between Piazza Castello and Piazza Vittorio. Their recipes have been handed down from generation to generation, but their iconic Christmas product is the Nuvola, also known as the pandoro of gourmets.
It is a traditional pandoro covered with buttercream and a sprinkling of powdered sugar, which makes it as soft and white as a cloud.
Here’s a tip: you can taste the Nuvola in miniature format as a delicious snack, perhaps with some hot chocolate topped with fresh cream, another speciality of the Ghigo confectionery shop.
Galup, the historic Piedmontese brand that has marked the entire Italian history of panettone, in 2025 opened another shop in Turin, at 7, via Andrea Doria, not far from the Porta Nuova railway station.
In 1922 Pietro Ferrua made the first low panettone with hazelnut icing, a version which has become a symbol of Piedmont, as an alternative to the higher Milanese version without icing.
In 1928 Galup's patent as a supplier to the Royal Household was registered and in 1948 the Pinerolo plant opened: here the panettone was produced on an industrial scale. The panettone Galup has become the symbol of Piedmontese confectionery all over the world!
