This year the Giro d'Italia starts from Turin and the Scuola Leonardo group, combining the ideals of learning and living in a world without borders, sets off on a bicycle with Wolfango to arrive in Serbia to build an elementary school.
The 104th edition of the Giro d'Italia takes place from 8 to 31 May. This year celebrates the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the pink jersey. To celebrate the 160th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, the largest national cycling event will start from Turin on 8 May and some stages will be in Piedmont. The arrival will be in Milan, where there will be the traditional catwalk and the Trofeo Senza Fine will remain on display in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II until May 30th.
The 21 stages take place almost exclusively in the Center-North; the southernmost point will be the upper part of Puglia. The Ravenna-Verona leg is scheduled to honor the 700th anniversary of Dante's death.
A year full of anniversaries this 2021. We of the Scuola Leonardo da Vinci group will remember it well. It is the year in which we opened two new schools: one in Viareggio and one, almost a sign of destiny, in Turin.
It is the year in which the director of our school in Milan, Wolfango Poggi, will get on his bicycle and will travel from Florence to Belgrade as the testimonial of a fundraiser for the construction of a school for children. We are proud that one of our directors carries on these ideals and are happy to contribute to the fundraising.
