The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics are just around the corner, and Milan is gearing up for an unforgettable experience. It’s the perfect time to explore the city, discover new corners, and soak up the Olympic atmosphere. And if you haven’t bought tickets for the competitions, don’t worry! Milan has plenty to offer for anyone who wants to experience the city like a true insider.
Start your journey at San Siro, one of Milan’s most iconic landmarks. In February 2026, this historic stadium will host the Opening Ceremony of the Games, coinciding with its 100th anniversary. On days without events, you can visit the stadium museum and explore the history of one of Italy’s most important sports venues.
In the city center, Piazza Duomo becomes a central meeting point thanks to the Sport Village: an open space with activities, installations, mascots, and events inspired by winter sports. It’s the perfect spot to hang out with friends and enjoy the Olympic atmosphere without spending much.

Among the city’s novelties, Porta Romana will host the Olympic Village. After the Games, this former railway yard will be transformed into a green residential district, showing how the Olympics can leave a lasting mark on the city.
Alongside sports, Milan comes alive with the Cultural Olympics of Milano Cortina 2026, the official program accompanying the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This isn’t a single event, it’s a rich, city-wide calendar involving museums, theaters, libraries, public spaces, and different neighborhoods.
At the Triennale di Milano (January 28 – March 15, 2026), you can explore two unique Olympic experiences. The exhibition “White Out – The Future of Winter Sports” looks at how Olympic design, architecture, and technologies are evolving to be more sustainable and future-ready. Also at the Triennale, the installation “Triennale × Milano Cortina 2026” celebrates Olympic and Paralympic symbols, blending art and culture in a dialogue across generations and nations.
At Castello Sforzesco, until March 22, 2026, the exhibition “Italy on Snow” tells the story of winter sports in Italy, highlighting fashion, gear, and mountain tourism, giving visitors a glimpse into how snow sports have influenced generations.
Getting around Milan is easy. The metro, tram, and bus networks will be enhanced during the Games, and a daily or weekly ticket allows easy access to all points of interest and events across the city. To stay updated on schedules, programs, and maps, check the official apps and the Games’ website regularly, so you won’t want to miss a thing!
