The 61st edition of the SALONE DEL MOBILE will bring together over 2170 exhibiting brands and 262,000 qualified visitors from more than 170 countries and will take place from the 18th of April until the 23rd of April.
The Salone del Mobile di Milano was launched in 1961, with the original idea and focus showing Italian furniture only. The trade show grew in size over the years, allowing many of the 13,000 companies which comprised the global furniture industry to showcase their waves in a single event.
Today, Italian and international companies of all sizes choose Salone del Mobile Milan to present creative design concepts and launch innovative products. Designers, architects, schools, universities and institutions come together to share ideas that can translate the present and imagine the future.
The Salone del Mobile fair, which takes place in Rho over a 230,00 square meters area, goes hand in hand with the FUORISALONE, which takes place all over the city of Milan.
The entire city revolves around the prestigious event, where you will feel immersed in an interactive design exhibit everywhere you go.
As the future of the global furnishing sector is intertwined with the green economy, sustainability and healthy living will retain their central role across all exhibitions and events within the frame of Salone del Mobile Milan 2023.
Besides the classics like Università Statale near the Duomo, Brera’s botanical garden and the BASE in the Tortona district, here are some of the must see designers:
- Masterly – the Dutch in Milano
Where: Palazzo Giureconsulti, Piazza Mercanti 2
The Dutch pavilion returns to the interesting Palazzo dei Giureconsulti with the finest design and artisan workmanship the Netherlands has to offer. - Fornasetti – the syntax of making
Where: Fornasetti store, Corso Venezia 21
This incredible, multi-story space will host three new collections of furniture and home accessories of the iconic brand. The set-up will be specially designed for the occasion and in one of the rooms you will be able to watch the atelier painters during a live painting performance. - Hermés
Where: Pelota Jai Alai, Via Palermo 10
Every year Hermes knows how to surprise its visitors and we’re sure it won’t disappoint this year! - Alcova
Where: Ex-Macello di Porta Vittoria, Viale Molise 62
The Alcova exhibition this year will take place inside the large spaces of the former slaughterhouse in viale Molise, currently in a state of abandonment but soon to undergo a permanent and radical transformation. The location changes, therefore, but the formula and soul of this itinerant platform founded by Joseph Grima and Valentina Ciuffi with the intention of promoting independent design remain. - Desacralized
Where: San Vittore e 40 Martiri, Viale Lucania 18
For Fuorisalone 2023, Galerie Philia - a gallery that promotes and exhibits the sculptural works of contemporary artists and designers around the world - has chosen the Corvetto area as the location for the exhibition Desacralized, which will explore the concept of desacralization through the works of 20 international designers.
