If we ask a foreigner how Italian is spoken, it is very likely that the answer is: with hand gestures!

It is universally acknowledged that we Italians accompany many of our sentences with gestures, not to mention when we let the movement of our hands explain what we want to say!

It is not easy for a foreigner to understand these physical expressions and even less to learn how to use them.

We tested the students of a class of Scuola Leonardo da Vinci in Milan with a fun lesson-game, during which the students had to understand a dialog "with gestures" between our teachers Enrico and Giuliana.
