Kim Polling and Italy - Episode 10 (Season 9)

In recent months, a viral game has been circulating on social media where famous personalities are asked to choose between two options. For example, football players are asked whether they think Cristiano Ronaldo or Messi is better, Messi or Neymar, and so on. This game is called chi vince resta (which roughly translates to who wins stays).

We’re bringing you a new version of this game, but starting with the question: Which is more difficult…?

Here are five questions for you:

Which is more difficult… learning the Italian congiuntivo or resisting the urge to gesture like an Italian?

Which is more difficult… pronouncing a tongue twister or resisting Italian gelato?

Which is more difficult… finding a parking spot in Rome or deciding which pizza to eat?

Which is more difficult… grocery shopping at a market without knowing the names of the products or finding an Italian who doesn’t love coffee?

Which is more difficult… passing a C1-level Italian exam or competing in the Olympics?

We had the pleasure of asking the last question to one of our students, Kim Polling, who has not only participated in two editions of the Olympic Games but is also preparing for her C1 Italian exam. Curious to know what her answer was? Find out in the new episode of ITALIANO ON-AIR!

In this fascinating interview, we discover how she chose to practice Judo, her experiences at the Olympics (Rio de Janeiro 2020 representing the Netherlands and Paris 2024), and some fun insights into learning Italian and life in Italy.
