The festivity of "San Valentino"💘
Saint Valentine was an Umbrian martyr, famous for being the first religious to marry a Pagan legionary and a Christian woman.
Later, in the Middle Ages, the writer Geoffrey Chaucer associated the anniversary with the engagement between Richard II of England and Anna of Bohemia. Since 1800 in Anglo-Saxon countries it has been traditional to exchange love cards called Valentine on this anniversary.
Today the date of February 14th is celebrated in almost all countries, with gifts between couples in love or more particular customs.
In Italy lovers usually celebrate with small gifts or romantic outings.
