This summer of 2024 seemed to never begin. Italy was divided in two due to the weather conditions. But now in July temperatures are rising across the peninsula. The luckiest people can find refreshment in the mountains or at the seaside by swimming.

We know that our peninsula has a lot to offer and even Florence, with its Florentine summer, can offer emotions, discoveries and, above all, many opportunities to have fun. Here below we will give you our advice to make the most of this summer in the cradle of the Renaissance.

The city opens its doors for the first time to the Giardino della Catena in the Cascine Park, where from 4 July to 7 September "Fermata Carlo Monni" by Bang! Every day there are walks on Carlo Monni's routes, the itineraries and the life of the great actor.

For dance lovers, “Florence Dance Festival”, is scheduled from 20 June to 23 July in the extraordinary Chiostro Grande of Santa Maria Novella. “I love Dance” is the motto of the event, which is in its 35th edition, and which involves companies from Italy and the world. From 10 to 31 July at the Synagogue, Andrea del Sarto's Last Supper and the Basilica of San Lorenzo, Virgilio Sieni's company will dance with an interactive show on the fragility of bodies in "Corpo Celeste". Citizens, scholars and artists will meet to discover an unprecedented emotional geography of the city, through meetings with writers, public lessons on the Italian gesture and beyond.

Summer is a synonym for film. Great cinema returns to a great location, the Piazzale della Galleria degli Uffizi. An evening will be dedicated to inclusive cinema by INCinema - inclusive film festival and there will be national previews in the presence of the directors. Another large outdoor space dedicated to cinema is the Sant'Orsola museum complex, curated by Spazio Alfieri which until 8 September will show the best films released at the cinema in recent times.

Music also reigns supreme in the Florentine summer. InCanto d'Estate, which is in its eighth edition, is a festival of 11 concerts between June and September, curated by A.Gi.Mus. entry is free. A vast and selected programming, with space for established musicians, new talents aiming at the artistic and cultural valorization of urban suburbs.
